Re: Windy matches, etc.

Indian Wells can get really, really windy. Davenport's match against Shaughnessy there was pretty bad.

Also, Agassi vs. Federer, US Open QF 2004. That's probably the windiest match I've ever seen. I believe the player's chairs blew over and onto the court at one point.

Re: Windy matches, etc.

Thanks. Something bizarre happened. I thought I double posted my thread; deleted one of them, and it turns out that I deleted both? Keep going, people. This thread was about "windiest" matches (inspired by the ongoing IW final), and matches played under extreme weather conditions, i.e. heat, low light, rain etc.

I think it can get pretty windy in Eastbourne and Toronto too.

A single flow'r he sent me, since we met./All tenderly his messenger he chose;
Deep-hearted, pure, with scented dew still wet - One perfect rose.
I knew the language of the floweret;/'My fragile leaves,' it said, 'his heart enclose.'
Love long has taken for his amulet/One perfect rose.
Why is it no one ever sent me yet/One perfect limousine, do you suppose?
Ah no, it's always just my luck to get/One perfect rose.

Re: Windy matches, etc.

Yeah I've been to Eastbourne several times and it's always been windy. The players seem to, generally, cope quite well with it.

It was Doha, where Cibulkova destroyed Venus because of that.

Re: Windy matches, etc.

All these girls have played in heavy winds.
In Doha it can be crazy. The USO is a very windy place. When Sveta won the wind was czary.
Remember the SF with Jen and Elena? Wild

But it's no excuse for anyone.
