Agnieszka ... I am sad not because you lost, well a little, but I read you played poorely which means I was right you are still slumping. Hope you will come out of it
Anastasia, congrats :yeah:
you call this a great match?
both played really bad. the worst match of 2009
Aga seriously this was so awful I'm not even sad I'm just disappointed. Never seen her playing so amazingly bad.
Congrats to Nastya for surviving this error fest but she hasn't done anything special at all. If she plays like that in the SF she will be double baggeled
Pray the Williams sisters don't retire until they're about 40 because painful as it is to say, they are the only two physically strong, mentally strong, champion-mentality players out there.
Everyone else seem to be deficient in one of these areas.
Nastya showed how good she can be on this match but also the limits of her current form. Mouratoglou is making his girls play extremely aggressively, it works at the beginning but then they need something else than this ballbashing. Not sure whether he can bring that to her. Nastya seems pretty good at the net, hope she keeps on working in this area.
Aga . She is just the shadow of herself. There were some brighter parts of her game in the match but overall she was extremely passive. I guess she is deeply tired from all the efforts she made last year. Get some rest, girl.
Dreadful performance for Aga, as other Radwanska fans have said she really didn't deserve to win.....
....which by the matter of elimination clearly means Pavlyuchenkova did deserve to win, even if only for being less bad than was Aga. In fairness, I don't want to be mean to Nastya, she played better than her opponent and that is the main goal of every match you go into. I have no doubt she can play a lot better than that, and it is pretty clear Nastya has a good future and it won't be that long before she is in the top ten, providing she plays better than she did today at least the majority of the time. Anyway, she did hit several very good shots which is more than I could say for Aga.
As for Aga, what can I say? I know she is a lot better than she showed today but I also appreciate and accept the way this forum goes the basic rule remains you are only as good as your last match. In those circumstances, I am not in a strong position to defend her were someone to rubbish her as a crap player. I can only hope Aga plays better in Miami. Very disappointing.
