I think WTA need a bigger event for OZ open warmup!

Sydney is only a tier 2, Gold Coast 3, Canberra and Hobart are both 5, i'm not sure about Auckland i think it's either 4 or 5.

i think besides the fact that australia is very far away from the rest of the world, this is one of the reasons why lots of top players over the year skip the open. and most top players would only play Sydney, and that should be a tier 1 instead of 2. and Gold Coast should be a tier 2

One more week of Grass Court Tennis 1 between Birmingham and Eastbourne, maybe a tier 1??? and 1 the week after Wimbledon, maybe in Rhode Island together with the men's tournament. That would definately encourged player to have a serve and volley style. your thoughts??

Maju terus Tenis Indonesia!

Def 1 more week of grass b4 Wimby would be nice.
I think the pre-Aussie warmup are ok - but maybe adding another would be good too. They need to reconfigure the WTA Schedule. Maybe more events spread out each with - with a few 'weeks off' scheduled right in.

...you didn't mention that the Hopman Cup is also in there...and players don't really skip the Aus Open because we're so far away. If they did, why do we always get nearly all the top 20 players out here (usually only those who are injured don't come). Distance was just Jelena's lame excuse for not comming...and we all know the real reasons why she doesn't want to come back.

maybe they could make tokio an outdoor tournament and move it too the first week of januari, or is it to cold for that?(I am sorry but I am clueless about the weather there)

In the middle of the night
I go walking in my sleep
Through the desert of the truth
To the river so deep
We all end in the ocean
We all start in the streams
We're all carried along
By the river of dreams
In the middle of the night

tokio is too cold in january.

they should move the oz-open back 1 week and then move the middle east tournaments before the oz-open

not my WTA-Tour anymore

Well as another poster was moaning that Venus shouldn't be playing a tier 3, they should either make more weeks of tournaments before the GS, or make them higher tiers, but we've all spoke about that at length.

If they moved wimbledon back a week i think surbiton would become a tier event a tier 4 or 5 though but that would be another grass tourny!
