does wtatour.com "ghost-write" the player blogs?

Reading some of Venus Williams blog (as well as Sharapova, Serena, and Jankovic in the past) I am hard-pressed to believe these players actually took the time to write the blogs themself, probably some communications employee from the WTA is the one to actually write these? I always suspected this because some non-native English speaking players seem to have a very good English on their wta blogs...

Well, I think the ones that do struggle with English get help from an assistant, but thats about it.

I suspect its more like, the player sends a couple of ideas and personal details to the WTA communications department, who then puts the blog together under the player's name.

Maybe they write it in their own language and then someone translates it into english.

Though reading them sometimes it feels like, the players really try to write it in english. That would explain, why the American blogs are far more funnier to read.

venus definitely writes hers, her style is very consistent with the way she talks, it has that very easy laid back tone to it and cheerfully talks about everyday stuff outside of the actual tennis, stuff she talsk about in her interviews.

Rena- a tennis great! 22 at striking distance.

I'm sure Maria writes hers herself. She has recognizable style when she gives interviews and writes

Whatever you do now,
the world still turns.

Some of the stuff they post on the blogs makes me think that they are real because no PR monkey would make stuff up like that. Didn't JJ blog mention her going to get her HPV vaccaine at one point. Also I recall Maria's delusional talk of how cool it would be if she could get to present an oscar to her friend Camilla and then there was her random hatred of beachcombers and other lower orders.

Re: does wtatour.com "ghost-write" the player blogs?

The players write them and are proofed read afterwards for spelling mistakes....they could even be written in their own language to make it easier and translated into english for us

MARION BARTOLI

Serena Williams / Venus Williams / Petra Kvitova / Jelena Jankovic / Francesca Schiavone / Sabine Lisicki / Agneiszka Radwanska /
