Not in the history of all histories, but in the small and rather inept history of TTC.

No but it the best and most passionate match they have ever played, and at 28 and 27 years of age how many times are we going to see them compete at this level? Also, this match will out live the controversy of the last week and TTC decision will not mean anything in the history of this sport. Their decision was incredibly short side and only punished the fans in the U.S. TTC only airs in the U.S (as far as I know) and the U.S only makes up a small percent of the worlds tennis audience any way, so who did they really hurt but the subscribers who pay for the 70% of Crap that they put on the air each month. Tell me this, When in the history of broadcasting has a television network pulled out of broadcasting a sporting event in "Protest"?????

You didn't miss anything. It wasn't high-quality at all.

Waiting for Ana Ivanovic to just retire already .
Justine Henin. Amelie Mauresmo. Francesca Schiavone.

I watched it on line and passion, athleticism, effort, determination and drama are pretty high on my "Quality" meter.

Oh, and how many 7-6 in the third matches are "poor quality"?
And the crowd giving them a standing ovation at the end seemed pretty pleased to me.

at quoting yourself. Loads of 7-6 matches are low quality, really. Tight match -> not equal to good match.

It was a matter of principle. It's the same reason Serena and her sister don't play Indian Wells even if Serena could have won 3 (or 4) more of them by now

Career Grand Slam in your 20s? Been there done that. Career golden slam your 30s?
There's only 1.
Serena.

TC tends many archive matches.
Since they boycotted this match, does it means theyr will never show it?

Would there be in some kind of legal trouble, if after having condemned the tournament organizers, they show this match few years from now.
Either excerpts as part of documentaries or the full length match.

Just wondering

That fine but a an individual not usually a (corporation) has principles. Again why don't those principles extend to the Men's tourney. This is TTC not providing a service it was given payment for. Say you go to a restaurant and order your meal and pay for it, waiting for it to be served to you the waitress comes out and says she objects to the chef and won't serve you your food. How would you feel if that was the only restaurant in town and they wouldn't give back your money and wanted you to agree with the waitress and just go hungry. You didn't have anything to do with the dispute but you are experiencing the consequences.

You hardly have anyone supporting this view!

I'll accept, Serena played total rubbish the first set, then Venus herself let her level drop from the first set, but nowhere near Serena's poor first set play.

The 3rd set was certainly competitive, with some amazing rallies, excellent volleying from Vee and great fight by both players to erase break points.

Oh well, to each his/ her own.

VENUS Williams, SERENA Williams,Monica Seles, Ana Ivanovic, Mahree Pierce, Joostine Enna, Sara Errani, Francesca Schiavone, Marion Bartoli

Re: Tennis Channel not airing this match---the biggest mistake in the networks histor

The third set was really good, while the other 2 sets were alright. I am still mad at TTC's decision on this, but at the same time glad they did what is right and stand up for Shahar.
