More strategy/variety?

I feel like players are using more strategy and more variety now than let's say 5 or 6 years ago,

especially on this medium paced hard court (Australian Open) that really picks up the slice and a lot of balls are not flying after they bounce.

What do you guys think?

Re: More strategy/variety?

Watch almost any match in this championship and in future tournaments. You'll see players using a lot more slices or using angles.

Re: More strategy/variety?

you are joking rite
except the bondarenko / radwanska match all the matches have had zero variety so far

If you're not paying for something, then you're the product.

Re: More strategy/variety?

depends on who you're watching.... There are several players using more strategy; however, there are about twice any many ball bashers....

Venus Ebone Starr

Serena Williams

Sharapova

Hantuchova

I tend to agree somewhat. Athleticism and hard hitting today is just not enough. All the ladies are fine athletes and are in shape. Pace now is the norm, so true everyone now to compete has added slices, angles, and lobs to their arsenals. Even Venus is lobbing.

Beat'em down Ms Williams, beat'em down!
SERENA PRINCESS OF POWER

Victoria Duval - coming to a slam near you
Françoise Abanda definitely a future #1 --- Taylor Townsend devastation on the march
Venus and Serena ferocious grannies --- Kimiko Date Krumm great granny still doing her thing.

Re: More strategy/variety?

The only match where I've seen slices is the Medina-Garrigues vs. Holland match. Unless you're talking about the mens match

Good Luck Radwanska Sisters!

Sorana Cirstea - Stefanie Voegele - Michelle Larcher de Brito - Alexandra Dulgheru

Martina I will miss you!!
