Ana Ivanovic: The Columnist?

Some players have routines and superstitions and I'm no different. During tournaments I always have a song playing in my head and this week it was Beyonce's Single Ladies. So when I take to the court it's like I take my iPod with me. While I like a tune it doesn't distract me and I can still appreciate my surroundings.
I can't speak for other players, but personally it's a great thrill to play in new stadiums such as the Pat Rafter Aren in Brisbane. It's a beautiful facility and I was very honoured to play the first night match there. I was especially happy to meet Pat a couple of weeks ago in Noosa and to talk to him about his experiences at the top level.
I really value the opportunity to talk to legends of the game such as Pat. I always admired him as a player because he was such a gentleman on the court and played with a great attitude. The kind of advice he can offer is invaluable. In the same way, I was very excited to meet Andre Agassi two years ago. It was fascinating to talk with him about tennis and hear his opinions.
Although I loved talking about tennis with Pat and Andre, generally I don't want to speak about the game when I talk to other players. When we are together we just talk about normal stuff, maybe a little bit of gossip and travel stories. I usually talk to players in the locker room before and after matches, Brisbane was a little bit of an unusual venue in terms of where everything is located.
The gym area was extremely busy. It was not only where players performed their pre and post match exercises, but also for TV interviews.
My team was joking with me after the match against (Roberta) Vinci that it's only the first week of the season and already I gave them heart attacks! I didn't play well in the first two sets but I kept fighting and it's always extra special when you win after saving match points. Unfortunately I never found my best, but it was a good workout and I have a lot to work on next week.
Taken from the Sunday Mail newspaper in Qld, Australia.
Just thought I'd post if anyone was interested.

She will be writting for this newspaper during AO. She already did it last year, but for The Age, another newspaper.

The payment for the columns goes to UNICEF.

Now that I've read what you posted, it's a bit different from what I had read in the Herald Sun website:

I read the title as ''Ana Ivanovic: The Communist?'' and was like

''I saw JJ in her prime.
Another time, another time.''

By Harold Pinter&Brena

''Man up or go home.''

''Rock on, I'm not talking to you. ''
