2009 EA Tennis wishlist ... Let's develop one to send to EA Sports

Are you guys interested in doing this? The game is supposed to come out late 2009. If we can start a serious wishlist, we may help get some of the things we want out of this game & show that tennis has a serious video game fan base.

I know this takes place on game sites & the developers actually check them out so let's make it happen.

I'll start...

1) #1 for me is realistic gameplay with good winner/error ratio, aces and doublefaults and where the professional characters in the game play like the real person.

lol you pretty got my major gripes with tennis video games all in one point (i think they should be separate)

Another thing to add: the ability to have phenomenal shots once in a while and horribly awkward shots once in a while. (i.e. randomness)

Retrievable smashes as well.

Re: 2009 EA Tennis wishlist ... Let's develop one to send to EA Sports

Well, you don't want to make it too random, because players want to feel like their video game skill has something to do with it.

On the other hand, yeah, players should have wicked bad shots that actually resemble their best shots. I mean, yes, if I take Lena D and practice with her my serve should be better, but it should never be as good as Serena's. On the other hand, if I mash the buttons right and get to uncork the Full Body Rotation Screaming Forehand of Death, it's my point, bitch, I don't care who's on the other side of the net. It seems like they claim this stuff is built in, but I never see all that big a difference between players, frankly.

Diving into the shallow end of the pool, another gripe--why do they give every female player a freakin' Barbie doll physique?

I mean the game I've got the virtual Lena makes the RL Rena look like a little boy.

Pass the duct tape and super glue. Lena's done broke my heart one last time.

Re: 2009 EA Tennis wishlist ... Let's develop one to send to EA Sports

yaaay a wish list

general
# more licensed players (if EA worked out with FIFA, etc.., why not with WTA & ATP??)
# real grunts, techniques and trademark playing styles of licensed players
# real apparel and racquets brands!!
# real tourneys^^
# realistic game play (no arcade shit!!)
# misc like.. changing weather conditions, authentic behavior of players, signs of exhaustion after long rallies, etc..

career
1# some kind of management mode where you have to take care of your contracts with sponsors, coaches, etc... (some people may not like this cos they want to focus on the game itself, but it would just be soo much more realistic!!!)
3# realistic ranking system in the career mode, and it shouldn't be too easy to become world's number one
4# real tournament calender (+ something like ITF's challengers, futures for the very beginning of your career)
5# it would be nice to have some extra training mode to improve certain abilities and exhibitions with other players would be funny as well (i really liked those mini games on virtua tennis, they were kinda funny^^)
6# creating mode itself could be as extensive as possible!!

that's it!

cheering for ~~ Venus Williams ~~ Ana Ivanovic ~~ Tatiana Golovin ~~ Tamira Paszek ~~ Sybille Bammer ~~ all other male or female Austrians

I think their should be 32 players, all of the top 10 then start picking players, reitred ones should also be included with these being chosen: Seles, Hingis, Capriati, Henin, Clijsters, Davenport, Pierce, Myskina. They should somehow make it to be able to make errors so i can actually throw my paddle once in a while and make the players according to their caliber in real life. Tournaments should follow the WTA calendar so you could start a dynasty. They should just follow everything according to how the tour is.

Re: 2009 EA Tennis wishlist ... Let's develop one to send to EA Sports

OK, this is going well ... I hope this becomes a massive so we can send it to EA Sports ... who knows they may include at least some of the things. I know they wont include everything because they'll want people to anticipate the next release but they'll have to include some things so people buy it & word of mouth advertising.

I also want TV style announcers once you make it to the pros in career mode. They need to sign someone. Even Mary Carillo so I yell at her to shut up while playing a big match.

i'd quite like an "impossible" level coz i find that once you have been playing on "very hard" or equivalent for a few weeks, you double bagel the supposed top dog every time...BORING!
