Question about the WTA Ranking system?

I was wondering from a long time about this and I decided to finally ask.

When two or more tennis players have the same amount of points, what is the criteria that determine who's first and who's last. I know that in the ATP ranking this is the tournaments that the tennis player has played but apparently the situation here is not the same. Do someone know?

Thanks in advance

Re: Question about the WTA Ranking system?

When two (2) or more players have the same number of Ranking points, the tie for the ranking position will be decided
according to the following priorities:

a) The player with the most total points from Grand Slams, Sony Ericsson WTA Tour Tier I Tournaments and the
Sony Ericsson Championships;
b) The player with the most total points from all Sony Ericsson WTA Tour Tournaments;
c) The player with the fewest number of tournaments in a 52-week period (including the Mandatory Tier I
Tournament, if the player qualified for acceptance);
d) The highest number of points from one (1) single Tournament, then, if needed, the second highest, and so on.

Thanks. But most of the players with a same amount of points are outside of the top 300 and havent's played neither do a Grand Slam, tier 1 or a YEC. Is it the same with the 100k, 50k and 25ks?

Re: Question about the WTA Ranking system?

Check Meelis' post - it's expanded. There are a number of "tiebreaker" rules to see who is ranked higher. If none of them help, then the player have the same ranking (like lots of lower players who have few points).
