Do you think power when you think Wozniacki?

I love the girl's personality (she's always so sunny and peppy!), but I don't see how she has any big weapons. I've seen her play a few times, and several times commentators have made it seem like she was a hard hitting player. Do you guys see something I don't? I find myself rooting for her even if I don't see what's so great about her game.

Re: Do you think power when you think Wozniacki?

Wozniacki's definitely a hard hitter but she compensate with something some hard hitter seem to be missing : a brain

To me she falls under the same category as Hingis or Aga....

This can't last. This misery can't last. I must remember that and try to control myself. Nothing lasts really. Neither happiness nor despair. Not even life lasts very long. There'll come a time in the future when I shan't mind about this anymore, when I can look back and say quite peacefully and cheerfully how silly I was. No, no, I don't want that time to come ever. I want to remember every minute, always, always to the end of my days.

I don't think she is a particularly hard hitter...yet. But she is getting stronger all the time. I believe in a year or two, given her rate of her improvement and her size and physique that she will be a pretty hard hitter in a year or two. Not, I should add, in a Sharapova, blast you off the court kind of way, much more in the manner of a player like Dementieva, who I believe her game will greatly resemble as she develops. In other words, I see her as a player who will hit with consistancy, depth and a degree of power combined with outstanding court coverage to produce a high percentage no-frills game that will be very hard to beat and should take her to the top 5 and quite possibly a few Slams as well.

Sven Gronefeld has ditched Ana and has been working with Caro (well not really).

I hope it results in something good.

She needs a strong net game!

She has a decent serve already so maybe that's what the commentators are refering to. But beside that it is consistency and movement and some counter punching that are her strengths. She's had some problems with the top power players because she hits floaters that those players will punish right away, but I guess it will improve with time. Don't see her hitting powerfully, though. Her brain is her biggest asset. And her personality .

I don't know if I'd call her a hard hitter. She can still develop and improve her game. I believe she is going to be one of the harder hitters on the tour in a year or two; not like Sharapova or the Williams sisters, though. Right now her biggest strength is that she actually uses her brain on the court.

Elena is a Power-Counter-Puncher, she has great potential for power, but is no so much of a POWER AGGRESSIVE winner hitter player such as Safina. This is why Elena has been a consistent performer for over 8 years now.

I also foresee Wozniacki having a very solid future, because she plays a consistent solid game, however I think she relies more upon consistent counter-punching rather than power-counter-punching, maybe Myskina/Zvonareva ?

Re: Do you think power when you think Wozniacki?

She doesn't hit the ball very hard, no. In my opinion, there is nothing impressive about her game. Heavy topspin forehand, pretty good backhand. A steady player with no huge weapons. And she doesn't have the courtspeed/defensive abilities of a Jankovic or Dementieva to rely on.

Re: Do you think power when you think Wozniacki?

I don't think she's a huge hitter. Does she hit the ball well? Yes. She's a smart player that could go for her shots a lot more often. I've seen her play aggressive and smart tennis. She's afraid to go for her forehand which leads to being punished by top players.

She will continue to improve I think.

I think boring game. I'd much rather watch Azarenka, Radwanska, Kleybanova or Lisicki.
