The Best 1991 Girl?

A thread was made around this time last year asking who the most impressive 1990 girl is, so I thought I would do one for the 1991 players. I find that the '91 list isn't as impressive as the '90 list but I don't know why. I, however, like many of the girls on this list so it will be interesting to follow them.

Here is a list of the top ten '91 girls and we can discuss who we think is currently the best or who we think will have the best career, who we are most impressed by, etc.

Re: The Best 1991 Girl?

Poll is up. Like I said, the rankings are not very impressive compared to the '90 girls at this point last year but I see a lot of talent in there.

I think Pavlyuchenkova and Halep are going to be Top10 players for sure, while Pervak, Martic, and Oudin will probably be Top40. A few of the others might be Top100 but I don't really see any standouts in the rest of them. I think Hercog is going to make a great doubles player.

Do you remember what the consensus opinion was a year ago?

1991 is a relatively weak year similar to 1988 (none in the top 10 so far). I would say Pavlyuchenkova, Halep and maybe Pervak as well. But it's still early for some girls born in the last 4-5 months of 1991...

^But 1987 was legendary.

Waiting for Ana Ivanovic to just retire already .

Re: The Best 1991 Girl?

as stated - 1991 is a relativly weak year, but we've been so used to AMAZING teenagers, i don't mind having an odd season with lesser new stars.

if you have nothing important to say, please do so in non-tennis forum. if you have something you think is important, but is actually rubbish regarding anything other than tennis - please do so in the non-tennis forum. if you have something tennis related to say, but it's actually "OMG, X player is so h0t!1" or "who has the biggest boobs on the wtatour" please do so in menstennisforum, under "wta forum". if you have something important, tennis-related and interesting to say please do so. No one in the world can understand how much tennis means to someone, except another fan.

I think most people thought Paszek would be the best at the time, closely followed by Cornet.

Wozniacki was ranked #70 at the time behind both Cornet and Paszek so it's cool to see how much things have changed. Morita was also thought of as a potential Top50 player.
