Service motion!??

Nicole has already changed her service motion in 2006 before USO to this short one and since Wimbledon she plays that longer one.. I think other players change it too..

please, can anybody explain me what's advantage or disadvantage of types of service motions?

Wow. Looks like she does care about her tennis and is willing to make some changes.

Re: Service motion!??

Her service stayed the same; the motion that has changed is pre-service. I am not sure if in fact it makes any difference with the exception of perhaps hitting with better pace and give yourself some rhythm. Bouncing the ball before the service helps with it, too.

Re: Service motion!??

I am not knowledgeable about this things...but I believe her old service motion is much easier on the shoulder. In terms of power/accuracy/etc...I really don't know.

Re: Service motion!??

vaidisovas curent serve motion was also her old serve motion which she changed sometime back due to some back problems..Now looks like shes trying to get back the old motion again! I think Pova changed her motion too right? for a brief period?

Re: Service motion!??

imo I think the simpler/less moving parts the easier it is.

See Serena.
