Monica has lost so many close matches this year, probably as many as anyone on the tour. I would be lying if I was to suggest that it was bad luck. It is not bad luck. At this point in her career Monica finds it very hard to play her best in tight situations. She will learn in time. But the good thing is all these tight matches show is that she is very capable of competing against WTA level players. Very rarely is Monica completely out played for an entire match.
As for Julia, yes, she did need a good win. I wish it hadn't come against Monica but I am glad it came. Keep it going Julia. I would love to see this be a great tournament for you.
