A. Sugiyama def. D. Cibulkova 6-7(4), 7-6(5), 5-3 Ret.

Good match towards the end from Ai. She cut down on her errors and her game matched up well against Domi's.

Congrats Ai!!

Can someone tell what the heck was with all the stalling? I was watching livestream.

But Domi, retiring down triple match point was very tasteless.

And here you are, a black unicorn.
Mythical and mystical since the day that you were born.

Wow. Great for Ai.

I was pulling for her, she's a consummate sportswoman and professional and truly gives her all out on the court.

Who does she play next?

Retired At Matchpoint? Should've let sugi ace her. The 30-something shows her amazing fitness levels once again.

It wasn't 6-3, Domi retired losing 3-5 0-40

I'm really worried, she can't even walk! She was like jumping because of the pain on her left knee. I think she was crying too.

Anyway, great match Sugi.

What was that drama at the end? 40:0 three match points down, she quits and goes in the books as loss by retirement? All she had to do was to stand there while Ai serves one more point. That was weird.
