Re: The Fall Cometh : Anna Chakvetadze
well if you deduct everyones points from now untill after the us open anna would be #12, which is amazing considering the amount of people that have said how crap she is this year.
also chakvetadze is amazingly good on hard courts especialy the american/canada summer swing, she began her carrer beating myskina at the us open reaching 3rd in '04 made her 1st tier 1 semi at toronto in '06, won the 2 hardcourt titles last year, beat venus on her way to san diego semi and has had her best result (semi) at a slam at the us open as well as a 4th round and a couple of 3rds.
decent showings on the summer hardcourt swing i think will leave her at 10 in the world, then its upto her indoor season as to wether she stays top 10 or not, but she had a very bad indoor season last year apart from the YEC.
im saying anna will finish the year at #10, theres no one behind her in the ranking thats going to hit great form, i think the top 10 will be the same 10 players for the rest of the season.
at worst she will be #11 or #12 by the end of the year, not bad for her slump year, cant wait for '09 when she picks it up again!
