Not if she keeps getting injured at the best times to get points (Wimbledon )

Linds has had some great wins (Jankovic, Dementieva, Ivanovic, Zvonareva, Bartoli to name a few) but hasen't really had a big run at a big tournament. I still think she is one of the best players on tour and will only lose to the top players, but her ranking won't get back up there unfortunately.

I hope so. I'd love to see her back at the top. Provided she's healthy (injury seems to be an issue right now), I think only the top top players can beat her.

Technically yes, she still has the game, but I've lost my faith in her staying healthy long enough to actually do so.

Re: Can Davenport Return to the Top of the Game?

I love Lindsay Davenport, but as of late she has been plagued with injury . So right now, I don't know if she can get back to the top of the game. She has beaten Ivanovic, Dementieva, Jankovic and what not. But I have yet to see her win a "big" tournament. She did beat those top players but end up losing later (4th round) in tournaments. So I hope so, but for me I don't think she will.

fraid not bartoli is a great win?

"And for the best of the teen-agers who followed her, and who occasionally referred to her as over the hill, Graf had a ready answer: against top-ranked Martina Hingis, Graf wound up 7-2. Graf's stirring 4-6, 7-5, 6-2 throttling of Hingis at the French Open final this June was perhaps the most emphatic parting shot the game has ever seen. "

Re: Can Davenport Return to the Top of the Game?

I don't think so. She is obviously a top 10 player when playing well, even still. She doesn't play much though, and even playing as little as she does, she still manages to get injured. I don't think she can stay healthy enough to make up for her lack of tournament play. Top 20 is most IMO.

With that said, if she can stay healthy from now until the end of the year, she can easily string some results together to get back into the lower reaches of the top 10. That's of course a big "if" with her though.

Can she? Yes.

Will she? I don't think so. She can beat anyone on a good day, but staying healthy is an important factor if you want to reach the top and Lindsay hasn't been lucky with unjuries since her comeback.

Re: Can Davenport Return to the Top of the Game?

It will depend on injury, if she´s healthy she can be a top 10 player without a doubt... just look at the few tournaments she´s played and she´s almost top 20 by now
