Everytime these predictions are made about (1) Aussie Open and (2) Summer Hardcourt Season...they're wrong. Roland Garros and Wimbledon have been historically easier to predict. Aussie Open generally has to do with who comes into the season in the best form and the summer hardcourt season has a lot to do with who remains healthy during the most painful part of the season. I generally find the US Open as the most competitive of the slams for this reason. I don't think picking "favorites" right now is predictive. Wait until the Olympics is over.
Ana also won Indian Wells two-weekers and Serena won at hardcourt mandatory (two-week also) event in Miami.
and I'm not even fan of Ana Ivanovic... just an objective observer who realize how perfect she is
AMAZING BELGRADE MIRACLE: In just three years (2008-2011) 5 different players born in same city reach world #1 in rankings and several GS titles and finals (WTA singles: Ana Ivanovic and Jelena Jankovic, ATP singles: Novak Djokovic, ATP doubles: Nenad Zimonjic and Daniel Nestor... with notable performances of Bojana Jovanovski, Janko Tipsarevic and Viktor Troicki which is also all three born in Belgrade)
