Will any go on to be Top 10?

I haven't seen one of these threads for a while.
These players a are frustrating, they were hyped for greatness but we are still waiting. Occasionally they do something amazing, often they go into a slump and they seem to have the ability to do so much more.

All three have had moments of brilliance, and everyone keeps waiting for them to take the next step, but we are still waiting. Will all three live up to they're promise? will any reach the top ten? Will they continue to be unfulfilled potential?

Why not?

They have been floating about for a while and are generally thought to be wasting their talent. All three, except maybe Tsveti, were expected to achieve great things and so far they have not. They are still young.

I think the Top10 is too busy for these three players to be honest. Players like Azarenka, Cibulkova, Kirilenko, Pennetta and Cornet have far more chances.

Don't think there's a chance of any of these 3. They are decent players, but do not have anything special.

These players are called journey women. They pop up all the time on the tour - they have a few great events to start off their careers, but then they realize that they are overachievers and do nothing special except maybe a Tier III for the rest of their careers.

Re: Will any go on to be Top 10?

While I vaguely like all of them, especially Tsveti (whom I saw playing live in Rome this year against Azarenka and Chakvetadze), I don't think any of them has a chance, sorry

Venus floats like a butterfly and Serena stings like a bee !

Re: Will any go on to be Top 10?

Peng isn't even a professional yet...
Pironkova defeated Venus when Venus made like 60 UEs. That's just ridiculous.
Safarova has the most promise, IMO, but I'm not counting on it.

What happened to Safarova again? I thought she was one of them 'up and comers'...

Re: Will any go on to be Top 10?

Doubt it.

Tszveti can be Top 20, but no more IMO. Her game isin't big enough but still good to watch. She certainly has as much game as Peer however, and that's why I could defintely see her break the top 20.

Safarova and Peng have a handfull of decent events during the season, then slump for the rest of it. I could probably see Safarova crack the Top 20, at some time in her career, but she's way too inconsistent to be a Top 10 player and to sustain the level needed throughout twelve months.

Peng's career has been stuck in the same place since 2005 really.

Grassonkova.
