Re: Report: Jaeger says she threw '83 Wimbledon final
Is this an old interview? (It seems like a new one; there are new quotes.) If not, Andrea "holier-than-thou" Jaeger needs to get over herself and that Wimbledon final. She should stop parading the fact that she threw the match. It's not something to be proud of.
We had a good thread about this recently. And my recollection is not so much that she "threw" it but that she didn't try as hard as she might have. Beware of headlines.
"During the match I missed balls on purpose. I hit right to Martina and when I was getting whipped in the first set 6-0, I tried to look upset about it" sounds like she's saying that she threw the match.
A single flow'r he sent me, since we met./All tenderly his messenger he chose;
Deep-hearted, pure, with scented dew still wet - One perfect rose.
I knew the language of the floweret;/'My fragile leaves,' it said, 'his heart enclose.'
Love long has taken for his amulet/One perfect rose.
Why is it no one ever sent me yet/One perfect limousine, do you suppose?
Ah no, it's always just my luck to get/One perfect rose.
