Thumbs down Serena.

Why can't she just stand a little more inches behind the baseline when she returns?
I know she is confident and not afraid of any big serves. But things are not getting right now and maybe it's the best time for her to step back?

Re: Serena.

I agree she was strolling casually to the service line and then half volleying them long on the return.

I think with her serve and her athleticism, her power, her court mobility, I just think when she’s on, she’s the greatest player we’ve ever seen, ever. Now, whether her record is the greatest remains to be seen because she hasn’t retired yet. But I think she is really the greatest player. I have seen Martina and Steffi at their best. There are little chinks in those players’ armor, but it was a different era, where you didn’t need to be the perfect player.

Re: Serena.

I don't mind her standing inside the baseline but a foot inside it is enough. She was practically at the service line half the time and she was losing those points more often than not. I think she was looking to intimidate Safina but she was doing that with her winners and her better groundstrokes more than anything else.
