Berlin 2R: Kirilenko def. Petrova 6-3 6-3

This is actually a great victory since Petrova seemed to be in decent form after her marathon victory over Srebotnik. This win will definitely add to Maria's rising confidence. Hopefully she can beat Jankovic in the next round and remain undefeated on clay in 08.

Maria beat Jankovic now.. I know the chances of that are not good but it would be so amazing

You never know. Ever since saving those three consecutive MPs against Vesnina, Maria seems to be fighting for every game (even when down 0-40 and such) like her life depends on it.

Well, go back and read the victory thread. Everyone seemed to think Petrova was in decent form because she beat an in-form Srebotnik. Some even thought that the victory could be her "turning point."

Her coach should promise to buy her another dog or a cat or something.

Ok my bad.

Winning strike is continue for Makiri:
2007 claycourt W/L: 1-5
2008 claycourt W/L: 7-0

and I'm not even fan of Ana Ivanovic... just an objective observer who realize how perfect she is

AMAZING BELGRADE MIRACLE: In just three years (2008-2011) 5 different players born in same city reach world #1 in rankings and several GS titles and finals (WTA singles: Ana Ivanovic and Jelena Jankovic, ATP singles: Novak Djokovic, ATP doubles: Nenad Zimonjic and Daniel Nestor... with notable performances of Bojana Jovanovski, Janko Tipsarevic and Viktor Troicki which is also all three born in Belgrade)
