For those saying JJ is having a difficult year!!

She's now 2nd in the Race to the YEC

She reached at least the QF at all her tournaments

She reached the semis of the AO and the final of Miami (the 2 biggest tournaments so far)

She has more points than last year at the same time

You get it
and she played "only" 8 events

Anastasia Myskina

Radwanska - S. Williams - V. Williams - Kerber

Re: For those saying JJ is having a difficult year!!

She is beginning to rmind me of Capriati, forever in the semis and finals but rarely the win. Her amazing run last year should have garnered six or more titles, unfortunatley Justine had this annoying habit of beating everyone.

Rena- a tennis great! 22 at striking distance.

Re: For those saying JJ is having a difficult year!!

Thank you Frenchie

I appreciate this. We must look forward and stay postive and so should Jelena. Go on with the hard work and try everything to become better. Losing is a vital part of every sport and it can makes you stronger. Even when the moment is so bitter, there is absolutely no need to move to "agony city". She is having a very good season so far and we should keep this in mind.

GO JJ

Re: For those saying JJ is having a difficult year!!

Yeah thats good, but she still hasn't won anything this year, whereas last year she was on the verge of her 2nd title of the year.

I starting to worry alot for her, if she doesn't defend Rome, I think she will be like Svetlana, good results, but no titles.

Re: For those saying JJ is having a difficult year!!

In her entire career JJ has won 2 titles at Tier II and above events -- at Charleston where she didn't face a single top-tenner and Rome where she defeated mental midget Kuznetsova in the final.
Going deep into the draws but rarely winning the titles is common for Jankovic.

AnnaK 4ever obviously forgot who Jelena def. this year @ AO ?

Yes, Jelena has a great year so far, this loss indeed surprised me.

Stay away.

Re: For those saying JJ is having a difficult year!!

Jankovic plays a far too timid and defensive game. Her serve is weak, she is often ''injured'' or sick and she cannot possibly solely rely on her movement and retrieiving skills to beat the top girls. She no longer has that element of surprise in her game, and as a result, her down the line backhand is less effective. She needs to learn how to take control of the point, and come in and finish points off at the net. Otherwise, her ranking will start to decline

And this is coming from a fan

Re: For those saying JJ is having a difficult year!!

She has been getting those results for a long time now. Reaching SF/QT of GS, beating WS a few times..
I don't see how this year is better/worse.

Re: For those saying JJ is having a difficult year!!

She's doing well, but I think for her... It seems like she wants to win something so badly that it gets counterproductive. She really wants a title. Really wants that feeling again. But well. I hope she'll get one soon.
