The 2017 Cow on Ice Watch

Clay sux - fact. Clay season begins and out come the pushers, the moonballers, the aimless grinding, the 5-to-1 UE to winner ratios, the 150 minute matches between scrubs nobody gives a damn about messing up TV schedules.

So I was thinking - what exactly can we do to entertain ourselves during this particularly dreary part of the tennis season?

Then I remembered. "What will Sharapova do during the clay season?" has been the hot topic among the resident punditry, some claiming she'll be the Rafa Nadal of the WTA, some claiming she's as comically hopeless on clay as Patty Schnyder is on grass. So why not a thread to keep tabs on Sharapova's results on the dirt, now that it seems she's willing to actually play a proper clay schedule?

This thread will be all-inclusive. Fans are welcome to list the victims of the Cow on Ice, h8t0rz are welcome to laugh at her losses. I promise not to badrep and insult the latter. Much.

Let the games begin.

Re: The 2008 Cow on Ice Watch

apperently cows lie down when it rains so that when it stops and they get up theres a dry patch of grass where they lay to eat.

that is all!

Re: The 2008 Cow on Ice Watch

This isn't the ATP. The same players win the clay tournaments who win the other tournaments.
The 4 semifinalists from last year's FO are all in the top 5.

"Cow on Ice" report 1: AI 2R. The cow beat a player with such a long name, she forgot to look like crap on ice.

Goodbye WTA and Jelena. It was nice being your fan once.

yeah pretty much. Except Davenport but I think Sharapova's mental toughness will allow her to beat most of the clay court headcases who should beat her on clay.

And the 4 semifinalists from last year's men's French Open are the top 4, what's your point?

Re: The 2008 Cow on Ice Watch

The players who win RG, Rome and Berlin are the same players who win the USO, IW, and just made the Miami final.
There's no Brugueras and no Nadals, who only win multiple RGs.
