Best 25 Tournaments

I was bored and did some research.

MARTINA HINGIS
'96 US Open - '98 Melbourne
106-10 .914

VENUS WILLIAMS
'00 Wimbledon - '02 Miami
102-9 .919

SERENA WILLIAMS
'01 Los Angeles - '04 Miami
116-10 .921

JUSTINE HENIN
'06 Charleston - '08 Antwerp
116-10 .921

KIM CLIJSTERS
'03 Zurich - '05 Hasselt
86-9 .905

MARIA SHARAPOVA
'04 Seoul - '06 Miami
92-18 .836

MONICA SELES puts everyone to shame though...at least as far as my research went

'91 Paris - '93 Melbourne
118-7 .944

Let them eat cake.

Re: Best 25 Tournaments

I wanted to do Davenport, but couldn't decide which 25 streak was the best one. I mean, 98/99...99/00...00/01...04/05/06/07, there are just so many great streaks from Lindsay!

Let them eat cake.

Re: Best 25 Tournaments

This two also deserve to be mentoned:

MARTINA NAVRATILOVA
'83 Roland Garros - '84 Sydney
127-2 .985

STEFFY GRAF
'88 Berlin - '89 YEC
130-3 .977

do you agree?

and I'm not even fan of Ana Ivanovic... just an objective observer who realize how perfect she is

AMAZING BELGRADE MIRACLE: In just three years (2008-2011) 5 different players born in same city reach world #1 in rankings and several GS titles and finals (WTA singles: Ana Ivanovic and Jelena Jankovic, ATP singles: Novak Djokovic, ATP doubles: Nenad Zimonjic and Daniel Nestor... with notable performances of Bojana Jovanovski, Janko Tipsarevic and Viktor Troicki which is also all three born in Belgrade)

you didn't take your research far enough. At one point Steffi won 7 of 8 slams including The Grand Slam

"Hatred is the coward's revenge for being intimidated" - George Bernard Shaw

"And for the best of the teen-agers who followed her, and who occasionally referred to her as over the hill, Graf had a ready answer: against top-ranked Martina Hingis, Graf wound up 7-2. Graf's stirring 4-6, 7-5, 6-2 throttling of Hingis at the French Open final this June was perhaps the most emphatic parting shot the game has ever seen. "

Re: Best 25 Tournaments

Thus, Serena and Justine played 1 match more than Seles, which they lost. From the other matches, Serena and Justine lost 2 more matches than Monica, over the span of 2or 3 years, in any case over the span of the same amount of matches.

Ju Henin Tamaryn Hendler Yanina Wickmayer Kim Clijsters
* Justine De Sutter * Marie Benoit * Klaartje Liebens * Kim Stubbe *

* Patty Schnyder * Dinara Safina * Elena Dementieva * Vika Azarenka * Katarina Srebotnik * Dominica Cibulkova * Ashley Harkleroad * Sabine Lisicki * Nicole Vaidisova * Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova * Sesil Karatantcheva *
