Easy run for Maria to title...

If seedings go according to play...

r1 BYE
r2 Osterloh or Qualifier
r3 Daniilidou
r4 Mauresmo
QF Hantuchova
SF Kuznetsova
F Ivanovic

Another title for Maria or can someone stop her in her path?

The draw: http://www.pacificlifeopen.com/4/ass...08WTA_MDS1.pdf

“I’m not the next anyone. I’m the first Maria Sharapova...”

Re: Easy run for Maria to title...

If she keeps playing at the level she's been at, someone will have to step up.
Maria has played the best tennis all year.
14 matches, including Fed Cup, and she is 14-0, and gave up 4 games or less in 9 matches.
That includes Justine, Jelena, Lindsay, Elena D. All got 4 games or less.

The most wasted of all days is one without laughter....
Even if you're on the right track, you'll get run over if you just sit there
Enjoy This Moment!!
HEALTH and HAPPINESS to EVERYONE

Mauresmo, Hantuchova, Kuznetsova and Ivanovic? Normally that would be considered a difficult draw but the way Maria has played so far, any draw would have been easy for her.

Re: Easy run for Maria to title...

It's not easy really, she's locked to win her first match or two but after that she could lose to any of those players.

She probably won't of course, but I definitely consider Sveta and Ana amajor title threats.

Maria is in good form, but her peak match of the year was probably against Henin. She won't be playing like that all the time.

Re: Easy run for Maria to title...

Mind you, considering the entry list, this is a fair draw... not too hard but not exactly easy either...

Re: Easy run for Maria to title...

"Easy"...

let's see--if she went that route, it'd be the tournament's #1 and #2 seeds, a former world #1 and the defending champion.

Some people are never satisfied...

Heidi El Tabakh Allie Kiick* Monica Puig * Laura Robson * Bernarda Pera *Jovana Jaksic *
