Re: What do you think of Serena's game?

After she loses to Patty, be sure this thread is bumped. Retirement would be imminent, of course. If she does somehow beat the Crazy One, well, her career being finished is reserved for Venus until Serena loses in Miami/a slam.

And both Venus and Serena will still have slams unlike the Demented one.

Don't mind me. Just stating what will be the droll in this thread should it reach 10+ posts.

...because bringing someone else's favorites into the fray when something negative is said about yours is a sign of a healthy, non-spiteful and well-rounded individual.

to answer the question, she's not as good as she once was, but when she's on, she should still beat anyone who's not a peak HH.

ROCK ON:
elena dementieva, serena williams, caroline wozniacki, ana ivanovic
david nalbandian, rafael nadal, andy murray, gael monfils, jo-wilfried tsonga

Assuming nameless/faceless posters on a message board are "spiteful" because they choose to respond to negativity in a manner you don't agree with is ignorant.

Never rule Serena ( or Venus for that matter) out. I think she has a couple of slams left in her.

Re: What do you think of Serena's game?

She (and venus) seems to be hitting the ball with much more spin than I remember them hitting with. This is both good and bad. Good because it adds more variety to their games but bad because their shots don't seem to have the same "sting" to them as when they hit flatter. Therefore, more players can retrieve their shots than once could. I think this is a sign of a lack of complete confidence in the shots. If they were more confident, they would be hitting much flatter with a "go for broke" style like they used to. Instead, there is more spin and "loop" on their shots and balls are flying more than I would like to see. It is working for them against the rank and file of the tour, but against the likes of Sharapova, Henin, and Ivanovic, I don't think it's good enough. Hopefully, as they continue to play they will regain confidence and regain the go for broke style with the spin added in for variety.

Venus & Serena Forever

THE ONE AND ONLY!

I totally agree with you. I think Serena's game became too insurance and that's problem.
