Yeah, "she" did win the Australian Open singles crown, but it was on my fun little computer game, Tennis Elbow. It's a fun little game, nothing terribly wonderful as far as graphics, but it's an enjoyable game nevertheless. Although the computer players are men, I was able to change the players names, so I changed all 251 players to the top 251 players on the real WTA Tour. My player is named Jane Fenik and is ranked 10th, and Corina moved up from 31 to 11 with the title.
As far as the exciting "match" Corina totally ousted me!
I lost yet another Grand Slam title (I lost the USOpen to Jelena Kostanic, 2-6, 2-6) 2-6, 0-6!
If you care, these are the players I beat LOL! -
R1 - def. Mi Ra Jeon, 6-2, 7-5
R2 - def. Iroda Tulyaganova, 6-4, 2-6, 7-6 (11-9)
R3 - def. Ashely Harkelroad, 6-0, 6-0
R4 - def. Ding Ding, 7-6 (7-5), 6-3
Quarterfinals - def. Lisa Raymond, 6-4, 5-7, 6-3
Semifinals - def. Jennifer Hopkins, 6-2, 6-2
Finals - falls to Corina Morariu, 2-6, 0-6
Anyway, here is the top ten in my little fantasy game (World)
1. Joanette Kruger
2. Jelena Kostanic
3. Silvia Farina Elia
4. Chanda Rubin
5. Lilia Osterloh
6. Janet Lee
7. Rita Grande
8. Anne Gaelle Sidot
9. Iroda Tulyaganova
10. Jane Fenik
Yes, I know I am a scary, and I'm sure you guys don't really give a flying broom what happens in my sad, little world!
The electronic "Corina" may have captured a Grand Slam, but the real flesh and blood Corina has captured my heart. To me, she is a true champion. She is a amazing fighter, and an true life example of a person who has worked hard; a person of great determination and a unwavering will to live. We support you Corina, your comeback to the game is what professional women's tennis should be all about!
