Far from her best, but she fought and was more aggressive than the usual lately. Her backhand is still a joy to watch, however the sliced version goes to the net in every important point!
Morigami is next and it should be passable. Then I would LOVE to watch her play against Safarova in the 3rd round. A win over Safarova could be the end of her slump, as the bad period actually started in their match at AO'07.
I predicted a win in 3, so much better than expected!!
(Scary near choke in the first set though. )
19. In the period from January to April 2006 Dr. Skalny sent very detailed messages to Ms Sharapova [...]: “Mildronate 1-2 X 10, repeat in 2 wks (before training or competition)”; “1 hr before competition, 2 pills of Mildronate”; “During games of special importance, you can increase your Mildronate dose to 3-4 pills (1 hr before the match). However, it is necessary to consult me on all these matters (please call)”; “30 minutes prior to a training session: Mildronat – 1 Capsule. 30-45 minutes prior to a tournament Mildronat 2 capsules”.

Ok, Mauresmo is playing badly right now, but hell she defeated the number 31 of the world by 7:6 6:2! It's not that bad!
Medina defeated Petrova and Kirilenko last week! Destroyed Pennetta and Schiavone in the Fed Cup in Italy on indoors! Took a set against Davenport (the only one to do it in Auckland)!
Medina almost defeated Mauresmo in New Haven in 2005, so this win is a good sign. No, she won't win this tournament and I don't think she can get back to the Top 10 in the next months, but this has a to be a step by step task and today a good step was made into her comeback to her best level!
