Roesch has a good game and is very talented. She can all shots & if her 1st service comes, it is also a good shot.
Her attitude was the big reason why she didn't have a better career. In the years 2001,2002 she improved a lot , beat Dementieva 3x and was #69 in 2003 - but then troubles with coach, federation etc. etc. - big fall
In 2007 she had good first half and beat few good players again, then against problems with nerves etc.
She has the game to come back to Top-100 easily, but at first she has to change her attitude.
I also remember when Anke Huber said in 2002 that she thinks she can go to Top-30 and maybe better if she wants - but she didn't
But in many matches it's like "I don't give a damn about this all" etc. etc. - difficult to explain in English, the Germans know what I mean
Few examples for her motivation:
Before US Open 2007 "I've had it! I'm not motivated"
Before Stuttgart 2007 "Gosh! I can't take it anymore"
or "I was not motivated, because of the bad schedule"
or "The umpire had no clue, my concentration went away because of him"
or "I cannot play without ballkids"
or "I was on a good way, but after the double fault I was totally out of shape and became mad"
and then she really IS NOT MOTIVATED!
And in most of the challengers she is not motivated too, cos of the physiotherapists (The most she said have no clue), the courts etc.
she is often like "I want to go away from here ASAP"
