Re: Who will win, Mauresmo or Chakvetadze?

mauresmo leads the series 3-0

2006 BERLIN OPEN CLAY (O) R16 A. MAURESMO 6-4 6-2

2007 PARIS CARPET (I) Q A. MAURESMO 7-6(5) 7-5

2007 ANTWERP CARPET (I) S A. MAURESMO 6-3 3-6 6-2

but sadly for Amelie,Anna is a much improved player since all of these previous outings.Amelie will need to be selective about when to approach the net because Anna has a deadly passing shot.Im picking Anna in 2 sets.

No. Not really. Even if she did, Amelie's defended and gotten good volleys on better passers than Anna is, that's for sure. But Amelie is definitely not the player she used to be, so who knows.

I'd imagine Chakvetadze in three sets, but Amelie winning wouldn't surprise me. Anna won't overpower her, and Amelie's serve would, I'd imagine, be more potent in this arena, kind of like on grass.

Please Amelie. Win.

i think Anna will try and keep Amelie in the longest slugfest baseline rallies as possible to wear out Amelie and test her fitness but Amelie has the net to break up the play...

Re: Who will win, Mauresmo or Chakvetadze?

it will be close i think, either way it will be a big win for either player, annas first win over momo and in paris and momo beating a top 10 player at home. im going for a 3 set win for anna.

Re: Who will win, Mauresmo or Chakvetadze?

This is for amelie to take.
The head to head suggest it. Anna does'nt hit hard groundstrokes to push amelie back. Anna rather place them well and changes the ball direction but its not a problem for amelie because amelie is fast!
Amelie in 2 or 3 if she choked on one set.

I hope Momo wins this event to regain confidence, she is too good to be overshadowed by the likes of Golovina,Ivanovic and of all people Hantukova.

Re: Who will win, Mauresmo or Chakvetadze?

I remember that last match in Antwerp.
Anna had an in-form Mauresmo well and truly on the ropes early in the third before hitting the self-destruct ....

Mauresmo looked pretty good for 3 games against Eleni today
The fast indoors suits her game (if she finds it), especially if she is serving well. This is the kind of match to see if the Frenchwoman has still got it. Anna, on the other hand will expect to win this.

Re: Who will win, Mauresmo or Chakvetadze?

Mauresmo Amelie was not able to beat: top30 player since Fed Cup in July (defeated Mara Santangelo), top20 player since Eastbourne'07 in July (won ovver Petrova by retirement, before that won over Peer), and top10 player since last year's Antverp played in February'07 (won over Clijsters).
Chakvetadze ranking is 7.

I'm alaways right, even when Im wrong...

However, it is necessary to consult me on all these matters (please call)”; “30 minutes prior to a training session: Mildronat – 1 Capsule. 30-45 minutes prior to a tournament Mildronat 2 capsules”.

Two of my faves!!! But have to go with my ultimate favorite..Amelie. She has home court advantage so I am hoping this is the event that changes the slump. C'mon Mauresmo!!
