Phew. Well done for avoiding the drop.
Much credit to Anne Keothavong who won all her singles matches!

Yeah, Anne's had a good week. Katie has been a bit of a letdown. So we just managed to stay up by coming joint 12th with Poland.

At least Nigel's optimistic:

Quote:
Captain Nigel Sears believes the team can build on their battling performances in Hungary.

"We needed to survive as going down to Group Two would have been a disaster," he said. "I feel that the girls performed well throughout the week and we will get straight back to work on strengthening the team for next year.

"I feel encouraged that the players have improved and I will expect things to accelerate next year."

Joint 12th with the 2 Radwanska's

Also, Anne would've done no better in Katie's situation - playing Schnyder, Szavay & Wozniacki.

the doubles was the disappointment!

Nice to see GBR is not going to be relegated.

Hopefully next year will be better. One year we nearly made the World Group II play-offs, so hopefully next year we can do it again!
