Question When Anna K. finally wins a title....

This week when anna k. won a couple of matches, numerous articles were written and even this board was crowded with a number of threads celebrating Anna's recent accomplishment as one would welcome the second coming; so, I am wondering how everyone thinks the media will treat the news when anna finally bags her first senior title? Do you think this news will recieve a huge coverage and we have to endure anna's picture on the front page of every newspaper or would the news be treated as another tennis win by an ordinary tennis player?

it would be big news of course...but then all the stupid critics, rumours etc would finally come to an end. Newspapers seem to love the fact that she doesn't have a title in singles. I hope she gets one soon..she deserves it.

Got a feeling it'll turn into "she's only won 1 title".

The year after it'll be "No titles this year then. . . are we going to have to wait that long again?"

There's always a new angle.

I agree with Sonic. The media has it in them that until Anna wins multiple slams (which at this point is unlikely IMHO), they will not be satisfied. Jealousy is a VERY powerful force.

I think it would be big news but I agree the media would find something else to write about, something like "she never won a Grand Slam".
I will be very glad wen she wins her first title.

i think that it will be big news, but the ways some people might try to turn it around is by showing how long it took her to finally get that first title!!!

I agree with you guys in that anna's first title would be a big news but I don't think the journalists would trash her for taking so long to win a tourney. Instead, they will go on and on about how they always knew she had a talent and, as they predicted, she only had to focus less on other stuff out side tennis. Then, I think the hype would start with how this is the most beautiful story in tennis, or even sport, this year and blah blah.

Anyway, not this time. She just lost 63-64 to Vee. I understand she gave Venus a good fight in the 2nd set; some say it's because Venus wasn't sharp. Well, can't tell as I didn't watch the match.

Nonetheless, I think Anna is quite content with her two previous wins.

It'll be big news. I also think that once she wins her first title, it'll be easier for her to win more titles afterwards. The monkey will finally be off her back.

No one deserves a title unless you point in the hard work and win it.

I agree that the media will praise anna once she wins a title but if she doesnt follow it up with more tounament titles they will go back to their old tricks and call her one tourny anna or anna one down none to go... get the picture?

The woman would have go win a golden grand slam with every match being a golden match to get the media off her back

I wish she will win one soon because the always comparing to anna when a player wins a title from some people on messageboards is very tiresome!

In the middle of the night
I go walking in my sleep
Through the desert of the truth
To the river so deep
We all end in the ocean
We all start in the streams
We're all carried along
By the river of dreams
In the middle of the night
