from the bottom half?

I'd hate to say fluke.. but it will be talked about. LOL If they get to the final and not Vee/Ana.. it will be one lopside final IMO.

It would depend on which player and how they handled the final... If one of the other players plays lights out tennis to defeat Vee/Ana & then actually puts up a decent fight against Henin/Serena/Maria,etc. it would be seen differently than if Venus or Ana absolutely implode and then the player hits 20+ DFs in the final

I think so, but I mean stranger things have happened.

In the short term, it would be an upset. For a fluke you have to wait a few years to say what the rest of that players career looks like - I mean clearly if whoever it is reaches the final then goes on to reach 3-4 other finals and wins a few big titles it can't be a "fluke".

This already excludes Petrova, since she has already been to GS semis before.
