Well,i hate to admitt that cuz Henin is the player that i dislike very much, but as i remember Henin got a flu or something that day and she lost,it was a cold and wet day too.

Yeah Kim was playing terribly for some reason, she struggled a lot in the first two rounds already.

Justine was ill.

Both were ill.

Kim had played well on clay in the lead-up, and was one of the favourites. She was nursing either an injury, or an illness. I think it was both. She looked pale in her early Wimbledon loss a few weeks later. It took her until the end of the year to recover.

Justine was ill, I'm pretty sure.

Yep, I think so too.. Kim had won Hamburg beating Venus in the final, and Justine had won Berlin beating Serena in the final, then reached the final of Rome losing to Serena.. So both were playing well leading up to the FO, but illnesses caught them both at the same time..

Re: Flashback 2002 Roland Garros

Kim was actually injured. She was diagnozed with a shoulder injury after the Australian Open and struggled with her shoulder throughout 2002. The injury was similar to the one Sharapova was dealing with last year.
