What should JJ's 08 schedule be?

Didn't she say she's cutting back?

She really needs to learn from this season hard and fast if she wants to avoid completely burning out in the last quarter of the year...

But she does like to play instead of train... what should JJ's schedule be this year?

Gold Coast
Australia
Doha OR Dubai -- NOT BOTH
IW
Miami
Charleston
Berlin
Rome
RG
Wimbledon
Stanford
LA
Olympics
USO
Stuttgart
Zurich

16 tournaments...17 if she makes the YEC

Re: What should JJ's 08 schedule be?

For someone like her?

Sydney
Melbourne
---
Paris
Antwerp
--
Indian Wells
Miami

Amelia Island
Charleston
---
Berlin
Rome

Strasbourg
Paris
---
Eastbourne
Wimbledon
--
Stanford
Los Angeles
---
Beijing
---
New Haven
Flushing Meadows
---
Tokyo
Beijing
Stuttgart
Moscow
Doha

She gets plenty of weeks off in this kind of schedule. 24 events -> four grand slams, seven Tier Is, Olympics, and 12 optionals. Stays in Europe for two weeks after Australia, goes on a quick month and a half trip to America, gets a week off before and after Olympics, plays every week before the slam, still manages to go to Asia for a couple of events as she likes to do at the end of the year, and by all means should not be burnt out by the time the YEC rolls around.

I didn't know that it's allowed to play more than 1 tournament a week.

1. Ana Ivanovic

2. Maria Kirilenko
3. Anastasija Sevastova

20 Tournaments. JJ should be able to win several matches in most events she plays in. If she follows this schedule she will manage to be fresh for the bigger tournaments without sacrificing the matchplay she wants. Plus, if for some reason she finds herself short of matches she could always add in Paris in the beginning of the season or Amelia Island during the clay court swing.

Re: What should JJ's 08 schedule be?

Hopefully she plays less tournaments than this year, but I'm guessing she'll do whatever she thinks will help her ranking. But I do think that if she played a few less tournaments that she might actually win a few more, if you get what I'm saying

the way she will play this year (losing 1R or 2R in every tournaments) doesn't need that much rest.
