You mean: 2 titles including GS
At least she won another tournament. Unlike Chris O'Neil whose one and only singles title came at Australian Open.

Interesting list Thanks!

I always wanted to be somebody. If I made it, it's half because I was game enough to take a lot of punishment along the way and half because there were a lot of people who cared enough to help me.

I can't help bumping this thread.

Jana Novotna seems to be the epitome of late-bloomer: she won only 6 tournaments (all Tier III and below) before turning 25 but ended her career with 18 more singles titles including 14 Tier II and above titles.

Navratilova by the age of 25 compared to 30 is also

God, Conchita made so many slam semis....bad luck she didn't get to a few more finals or win a couple more. Seles, graf and Sanchez-Vicario were always too strong for her though.

wow. i had forgotten seles' teenage record.
and the importance of mental fortitude or a carefree attitude very evident here.

I know she was far from memorable, but I don't see Tracy Austin anywhere. She did win two slams as a teen, and reached three semis.

Bump.

Ignore posts concerning "pre- Graf" slam winners -- I eliminated them form the lists.

Steffi The Grand Slam before twenty :notworthy:

"Hatred is the coward's revenge for being intimidated" - George Bernard Shaw

"And for the best of the teen-agers who followed her, and who occasionally referred to her as over the hill, Graf had a ready answer: against top-ranked Martina Hingis, Graf wound up 7-2. Graf's stirring 4-6, 7-5, 6-2 throttling of Hingis at the French Open final this June was perhaps the most emphatic parting shot the game has ever seen. "
