How does Gala Leon Garcia play?

This is directed to anyone that has seen Gala play. I was just wondering what her style of play was because she's one of the few top 100 players I've never seen play.

Bump!

Hey, ptkten, have you seen Marta Marrero or the Zanetti sisters play? What are their games like?

Gala is a lefty who plays from the baseline and has a nice one-handed backhand with lot of slice ( similar to Grande's) and plays very deep. Apart from her backhand she hasn't got any special weapon but she has a great consistency.

Marta plays from the baseline too although she's not afraid of coming to the net. She makes great angles with her forehand and her two-handed backhand is improving fast. Her game is more attacking than Gala's and I expect her to be a top 20 player. (hopefuly! )

Adriana's game is as consistent as deffensive. She plays smart from the baseline but basically waiting for her opponent's mistake.

Thanks for the info!

I have read that Marta has great technique, hopefully she can gain some more confidence and keep improving.

What about Torrens Valero and Muller?

Cristina plays a bit like Marta, but more deffensive and frecuently moonballing waiting for her chance to attack.

Muller has a great, fast and attacking forehand but she has to work on her 2H backhand. She's so short but she's a fighter. Typical player that can win some Tier V titles but playing any top ten player would be easily beaten.

Sounds pretty similar to some of the other Spaniards Thanks for the info about Gala, I'd probably like watching her play because I like one handed backhands

I saw Marta once on tv at the Australian Open against Capriati but only the games when Capriati was on a roll so I didn't get to see her good angles and taking control of points

Torrens really does not impress me at all.... she just mixes up her ground shots with some topspin and hopes for the best. Does not hit very hard or deep. and sometimes lacks some patience.
her serve is quite good though.
