Nicole Pratt just had knee surgery
Nicole Pratt remains on track to compete in her 18th Australian Open despite undergoing arthroscopic knee surgery in Germany two weeks ago.
The surgery repaired a torn lateral meniscus and removed some loose particles floating in her right knee.
“I will be looking to return fully fit for the first tournament of the 2008 season, either at the Gold Coast or Auckland,” Pratt said.
“Since the end of March I have been dealing with knee pain and swelling and decided that if I wanted to stay competitive in the game, it was necessary to have the surgery.
“The surgery was a success and the timing of it means I have already started rehabilitation and have enough time to prepare myself for the 2008 season,” she said.
Pratt, aged 34 and ranked 71 in the world, will embark on her 19th season on Tour in 2008 and is aiming to represent Australia at her third Olympic Games in Beijing.
