One of the great parts of the GS is seeing young talents upsetting seeds and making good runs. Bad Idea.

Re: Should #1-8seeds get a bye in Slams??

No, everybody must be on an same equal footing, even the first and the 128th player.
Few players must play 3 games to qualify as it is, so no.

Justine hénin

Anastasia Myskina

Anna Chakvetadze, Samantha Stosur, Alcia Molik, Svetlana Kuznetsova, Elena Dementieva, Nadia Petrova, Jessica Moore, Flavia Pennetta, Mara Santangelo, Anabel Medina Garrigues

I agree with you..!!
and SLAMS has a 256 draw..!!

thats the thing...!!
then make the SLAMS a
"512" draw giving the top 8
seeds

isnt it just fair?
cuz the top usually make FAR
in the tournaments they enter??

Re: Should #1-8seeds get a bye in Slams??

it took me some time to understand what you meant. in my opinion that is an incredibly silly idea. better to go back to having only 16 seeds (i actually thought that you were suggesting having only 8 seeds).

Re: Should #1-8seeds get a bye in Slams??

No, a Slam is supposed to be physically demanding and everyone should have to possibly play 7 matches to win the title, not six.

Sharapova / Bartoli / Azarenka / Rezaï
Cornet / Karatantcheva / Kirilenko
Safina / Dulko / Görges / Shvedova
Fedak / Czink / Harkleroad / Gallovits
Kleybanova / A.Bondarenko / Watson

Absolutely. It was that Dokic match that first got me addicted to tennis.

LOL, stupid suggestion would just be 2nd round upsets then and a slightly higher chance of that happening due to opponents certainly one round more matchplay.

Re: Should #1-8seeds get a bye in Slams??

NO.

I would like to have a slightly smaller field in the main draw.
- 6 rounds instead of 7: more competitive matches in the first week.

Also: go back to 16 seeds from the outset.

No No!! It's good as it is.
The slams are the biggest and the most imprtant tourniments, so I think the players should work their hardest

Henin, Schnyder, Jankovic, Aga Radwanska, Cornet
