YEC Format 2004-2006: 2007 is SET(Semi-Formally)

The years 2004-2006
all had the same format for the top 4 ranked players
except that, the colours keep on changing..
i dont know why

I dont think that it will change this year either:..
(*) - Real Rankings at that time

2004:
1-3-5-7(8)
2-4-6-8(11)

2005:
1-3-6(8)-7(9)
2-4-5-8(10)

2006:
1-3-5-8
2-4-6-7

unfortunately for some players who were forced out
of the championships.
and good thing for players such as
Vera Zvonareva who was the 11th seed to make it through..
hear that Elena..

NOTE: since the RR format..
no 1st has ever won the title..

THE SCENARIO:
1- Justine Henin
2- Jelena Jankovic
3- Svetlana Kuznetsova
4- Ana Ivanovic
5- Serena Williams
6- Anna Chakvetadze
7- Venus Williams
8- Maria Sharapova

1-3-5-8:
lots of Great matches
we would get to see
Justine vs Jelena vs Venus vs Maria vs
Justine vs Venus n Maria vs Jelena
ENTERTAINING AND GREAT, lots of drama IMHO.

2-4-6-7
mmm...
almost no comment...
Im guessing, just like the 2 previous year
both of the Finalist would come from
one half..

so to sell more tickets in both Group
Larry Scott decided to dig in...
by making sure that a Williams would be in the Finals:

Pink Group:
1-3-5-8(woohoo)
1- Justine Henin
3- Jelena Jankovic
5- Maria Sharapova
8- Venus Williams

Violet Group:
2-4-6-7
2- Svetlana Kuznetsova
4- Ana Ivanovic
6- Serena Williams
7- Anna Chakvetadze

exciting eh..!!
lots of Great matches!!

Chakvetadze has withdrawn from Linz right?
cuz if she won there, then she could over take
Serena for the 5th place.

Since Hantuchova will lose to Justine in the quarters
she will need to win Linz to overtake Venus n Sharapova
winning Zurich n Linz would take her above Serena.
Daniela in the YEC could be a good thing or a bad thing!!
Masha would be shooed off.!!

And Bartoli isnt gonna win Zurich/Linz

edited: I didnt know that the seedings would be
base on the REAL rankings and not the Race

Re: YEC Format 2004-2006: 2007 Scenarios

hard to predict this year's YEC when they're still 3 places left, but i like your logic... makes sense... the pink group would give me the most interesting matches, they'll be more about personality i think... the violet group would probably produce the more entertaining matches...

we might see an all williams final for the first time in ages!!! i think both will get through qualifying and then unless they meet in the semis they could meet in the final!

Re: YEC Format 2004-2006: 2007 Scenarios

They don't use the race rankings to seed the groups. They use the actual rankings of the players to seed the groups. I don't see any way that Jankovic would take over the number 2 spot from Kuznetsova between now and then, so Jankovic would probably be the third seed.

Justine Henin

1-3-5-7(since 5-8 has been used for 2 consecutive years)
mmm..sounds bad, but its good that
we will get to see
Justine vs Serena vs Venus vs Justine
another good thing here is..!!
we wont see Venus get tired as Jankovic is on the other side!!1
2-4-6-8
boring, all the tired people would be there..

so to sell more tickets in both Group
Larry Scott decided to dig in...making it..

1-3-5-8(woohoo)
1- Justine Henin
3- Svetlana Kuznetsova

based on the pink and violet groups, justin would win her group 3-0, serena woudl beat kuzzy and maria but lose to justine. maria would beat kuzzy and lose to justine and serena. kuzzy would lose every match. for the violet group jankovic would beat chakvetadze but lose to ivanovic and venus. ivanovic would beat jankovic and chakvetadze but lose to venus and venus would win all 3 matches.
justine would beat ivanovic in the semis.venus would beat serena in the semis but moving her from side to side (the movement gap between teh sisters is now huge.) the final could go either way imo. the odds would favor justine but with venus u never know.
