Serena Starts the Year With a Loss

Yesssssssss!

I knew Elena had beaten Serena before I just couldn’t remember when. All during the time Elena was putting a beating on Serena the commentators kept saying how Elena had never even taken a set off of Serena but I knew that didn’t seem right.

Remember the days when Serena Williams used to routinely dispose of her opponents in under an hour? Now the tables are turned. This was a pitiful beginning to the season for her.

From SAPA-AFP: Serena's defeat deals a blow for her comeback

Serena Williams slumped to a 6-3, 6-1 defeat to Elena Dementieva on her comeback from injury here on Wednesday, dealing a blow to her preparations to defend her Australian Open crown.

The seven-time Grand Slam winner, who had not played since her embarrassing first-round defeat at the China Open in September, was broken in the third game before capitulating in less than an hour in the Champions Challenge opener.

Williams, 24, put in an error-strewn performance against the Russian world number eight and will need a massive improvement if she is to defend her title in Melbourne in less than two weeks.

Serena rules the world.

People who don't even like her can't stop making threads about her.

I love it....I love it....I love it......

It is quite amusing Half of these people have made more threads about Serena than me. Heck, they probably go to bed thinking about her.

You are an idiot. Your life evolves around Serena doesn't it

That was an exhibition match. Serena was in her worst shape ever and it would of been embarrassing for Dementieva if she didn't win. It doesn't count in the H2H anyway.

What do you mean it doesn't make sense? Did you not see the match? They must have mentioned it a dozen times. I simply wanted to clarify and correct the mistake. Even if there were no points involved a win is a win.

Is she still in that tournament in Zurich? I could've sworn that she'd withdraw.
