Nope, it doesn't look like Russian. It's probably Slovak.

Sorry Sonja, can't help you , but here is another bump.

Everyone you meet is fighting a battle you know nothing about.
Be kind.

Yes, it is in Slovak, but I can understand it.

Here is my translation (full of mistakes, I guess)

----------------------------

Maueresmo: I want to be #1

French player Amelie Mauresmo has very good memories on Bratislava, she has won her first WTA tournament in the Incheba hall three years ago. The 23 years old player has returned to Slovakia as #1 of the French Fed Cup team to play quarterfinal match of the world group - and again on the court of Incheba at the right bank of the Dunaj. Mauresmo trained yesterday afternoon with french captain Guy Forget, former world number 7 (1991), than she played a practise set and finally played footballtennis (is it the right word?). She seemed to have lots of energy.

After the practise she came to the press conference fresh and happy.

Tell us about the match with Forget.
"Guy is still in the great shape, his left hand is tough. He has won 7-6 after the drama in the tie-break. I enjoyed the match."

You reached semi-final in the Wimbledon where both Williams sisters reached the final. They dominate the courts nowadays. Is it good for women's tennis?
"Hmm, when they reached Grand Slam final for the first time last year, it was fun. But when it happens again and agian, it is no more fun. They dominate women's tennis and there are only few players capable to defeat them. I consider myself to be one of them, but I have to continue working hard. I got great form in the Wimbledon and I hope I will convert it here in Bratislava."

Have you had any time here to think of your victory in 1999 or have you made any trips to the town?
"There is no time for that. We came here to play tennis, not for the trip. I am on the court for 4-5 hours a day, meantime I have a massage and then I eat and have a rest. Such are my days in Bratislava."

It seems you are used to hard preparation. You are currently ranked #10 in the world and you have been #5 last year. What are your tennis goals?
"I want to be #1. I don't hide that and I think it's quite natural. Who enters top 10 once wants to climb to the very top. Tennis is absolute priority for me."

You helped to beat Argentina in the first round scoring to points in the singles, Dechy scored the third point. Is this the way to succeed over the Slovakia?
"The true is we came here to win. But I don't think about who is supposed to win. It is not important who is gonna win, we just have to score 3 points together. I don't think I am under bigger pressure then home player Daniela Hantuchova."

You lead 1-0 in your head-to-head. Can it be any important?
"No. Daniela will be in front of her home crowd, it can be the decisive factor. She is very talented and has a great future in front of her."

-------------------------------------------

I hope it can help you !
