Bally - how will she fare on hardcourts?

How does everyone think Elena Baltacha will fare on hardcourts this summer?

I think her game is possibly even more suited to hard courts than grass courts as she is a powerful, primarily baseline hitter.

Can she come through qualifying for the Open?

I think its all about confidence she had her best results on grass but has hardly played on hardcourts(in tournamnets!)

If she gets enough matches in before the open she'll have a great shot at qualifying!

GOOD LUCK IN 2016 GB TENNIS GIRLS

I agree that it will be mainly about confidence. She has the talent to qualify for the Open and win a few rounds, but right now it's just about getting enough hardcourt matches under her belt. Hopefully, she will continue to ride the crest of confidence she got at Wimbledon and do well in her Challenger events this summer. Anyway you look at it, I think that Elena's days of worrying about qualifying for GS's will be ending soon. I predict that she will gain direct entry into the AO.

That's what she said!!!

She won her first match in straight sets (6/3 6/2 I think)! YAY!
If she plays the way she did in Wimbledon, she'll be really good! Let's just hope she stays injury free!

What is it with Britain. Nobody took any interest in her, she won two matches and now everyone says she's the best thing since slice bread.

Good to see us Antepodians sticking together (even though I was born and now live in London)

Just hope your not counting on seeing the Wallabys retain the Bledisloe Cup as it's going home in a few weeks!

Kiev. It does say something about British sport when you consider two of the best three players wern't even born in the UK.

In Britian we do get get extra excited over a good female tennis player.
It should be obvious why?
Wimbledon is held here every year and at the moment there is not even 1 really good female british player to cheer!
So come on ELENA BALTACHA!
