But it's quite close. All of them can hit it hard when they want, well maybe except of Anna who usually plays low paced shots.

very hard to choose, jelena & anna are probably the only ones who don't use a lot power i think, just my opinion.

True, and I also find with Ana that her forehand is huge but her backhand isnt so much so its hard to rank her as well.

Re: Rank the top 10 in terms of how hard they hit

Chakvetadze has more pace on her shots than people give her credit for. I think slightly more than Jankovic anyway. I might be wrong, it's pretty neck and neck between those two. I think Anna's normal rally shot is slightly faster but when Jankovic is trying to open up the court or hit a winner, hers is faster.

Also as the TS mentioned, it's difficult to pick between Serena and Ana because Ana's FH is probably bigger than either of Serena's strokes, but Serena is more balanced in terms of being able to belt it off both wings.

The rest is pretty obvious IMO.

1. Venus
2. Serena
3. Henin - NO, I'M NOT JOKING. Hard hitting isn't just about how big you are - it's about timing and technique as well.
4. Ana
5. Sharapova
6. Kuznetsova
7. Hantuchova
8. Petrova
9. Chakvetadze
10. Jelena

Yeah but there is a big disparity between the power of her forehand and backhand unlike Masha, Justine and the Williams sisters. To answer your question I would say that Hingis and Jankovic have bigger backhands than forehands
