Re: injuries on wta tour

There have been plenty of knee injuries over the years. I was present at AO when Medina-Garrigues and when Husarova did their knees and neither was pretty - although thankfully they didn't make the horrible scream that Mary did (although I assume they were still in alot of pain).

Yeah, I was there at the match where Rippner rolled her ankle. It was the very first match played at Vodafone Arena and it was over in 5 minutes. I remember it pretty well because when she rolled her ankle, Monica Seles was just helping her out by getting her water and her jacket. It was a good display of character from Monica.

The roll was pretty sudden. We in the crowd thought she had just tripped until she couldn't get up.

Brie's father Rob, an ex-Stanford tennis captain and the pro dubs partner of err, Convicted Criminal Roscoe Tanner is a radiologist in California. A really nice guy. Poor Brie wound up becoming a footnote in tennis history during a comeback attempt a year later @ IW, as the first player to lose a WTA match to a 14 y.o. named Sharapova. Her dubs partner, Houston's Melissa Middleton, is as devout a Christian as Michael Chang, not an easy "cross to bear".

Re: injuries on wta tour

i got injured on monday playing indoors. i went for a long ball down at the baseline in the far right corner. i planted my foot and it got stuck on the court. my right ankle rolled over while i changed direction. my body went left and my ankle to the right. i heard 3 loud pop´s and the next thing i saw was my right ankle in an awkward position pointing sideways.
i dislocated it and tore every ligaments in my ankle. i am waiting to have surgery on it.
i am looking forward to your answers and storys. i´m so bored right now just elevating it and icing it.

best regards, tamara

Medina and Husarova both didn't scream or anything. They just kinda lay where they were, and couldn't move. Lucky their opponants realised something was really wrong and went to help them. Husarvoa was a while ago, coz she was playing Graf at the time...Medina also was a while ago - the year after Husarova, but I don't remember who she was playing, but I remember both opponants did go to help. I know Husarova was put in a wheelchair, can't remember for Medina, but I assume wheelchair too, coz she wasn't moving anywhere on her own.
