Moving Stuttgart to spring with such public numbers?! rubbish!

Some events in the US and all over Europe elsewhere would be happy getting such a reception.

It´s a drama that Stuttgart is moved to indoor clay.

totally agree... Doesn't make any sense.. The field will be not that strong, and why play indoor clay when you can start outdoor one week later

I can't believe they doing this to this tournament ... Stuttgart got a new stadium, it is very well organized, it's very prestigious and it's obviously very popular among the players ... I don't think it will last long after moving it to the clay season ...

i dont think that it would be that popular as an indoor clay, probably jankovic will play though.

Stuttgart is one of the best tournament of the fall season (with YEC and Zurich). The best players are there. I don't understand why they move it. Jealousy maybe

Will it be Stuttgart (clay indoor) and Berlin (clay outdoor) back to back next year?
An indoor tournament at this period of the year is stupid (players come from green clay outdoor in USA, then play indoor red clay in Europe, then red clay outdoor)...

That men´s event is totally a different time, right after Wimbledon, outdoors.

It´s sad to see the WTA changing its tactics promoting tennis. There was a time, when Leipzig-Zurich-Stuttgart-Moscow-Linz was such a nice line of events.

Might be though that the Olympic season made the WTA change the schedule for one year only limiting the European season after the Olympics and US Open for one week. Might be that 2009 it´s different.

That's what I was thinking. Let's hope.

The clay season is such a wash anyway, and this event has really succeeded indoors. I can't see why they would do it.

Then again, look at what happened to San Diego. Some events get to be too good for their own good.
