Justine can stop playing right now, and still be #1 in WTA and YEC race rankings...

That's bloody amazing... no doubt the POY 2007

So? With what she was going through, there's no way she would have won... All she'd probably have is more ranking points, but her win % might go down, and her titles would stay the same.

If Justine would have been able to win, she'd have been there.

as much as i am not a fan of Justine there's no way you can categorically say she could not have won. she didn't lose her game, she simply wanted to avoid being relentlessly pursued by the media and probably didn't want to travel to Australia when she needed to finalise her divorce. Given how much better she is than everyone at the moment she would have had a chance to at least make given the final - especially given how poorly Sharapova played to get there

Nah...

Jankovic
might change her mind about her schedule
and decides to play everything
and win everything she plays...

same with Kuznetsova

Winning YEC+2 TIER Is+3 Tier IIs would be more than 5200
but dont know about those mandatory stuffs..

Huh? Where did the Maria comment come from? Justine and Maria would have been at different sides of the draw if I'm not mistaken. So Justine probably could have made the final yes, but she would have had to get through Serena. Justine playing the AO would have been better for Maria actually - no super-determined Serena in the final.

Maria Sharapova

Since Justine was #1 at the time, then it'd be Maria who would have had to get through Serena in the bottom half.
As for switz's comment about Maria, I think he simply meant that Justine wouldn't have to play great to get far seeing how Maria did just that.

In the end Justine wasn't there, and it doesn't matter anymore.

I really doubt Jelena and Kuzzy will play and win in all of them...

Cool to see Venus back to Top-10 She has in next months not really something to defend

that wasn't my point

i meant, imagine how far ahead she will be after the 08 AO, seeing as she has nothing to defend
