Grand Slam Woes

out of the last 10 slam finals, only Wimbledon has held 3-set finals

Wimbledon '05.........VW d. LD 4-6 7-6 9-7
US Open '05...........KC d. MP 6-3 6-1
Australian Open '06...AM d. JH 6-1 2-0 ret.
French Open '06.......JH d. SK 6-4 6-4
Wimbledon '06.........AM d. JH 2-6 6-3 6-4
US Open '06...........MS d. JH 6-4 6-4
Australian Open '07...SW d. MS 6-1 6-2
French Open '07.......JH d. AI 6-1 6-2
Wimbledon '07.........VW d. MB 6-4 6-1
US Open '07...........JH d. SK 6-1 6-3

and even in 2007, when all the finals have been straights, Wimbledon has been the most competitive, with 5 games won by the loser

this further shows what a great tournament Wimbledon is, bringing the best out of the players who play in the finals there
