Final 8 For The Year End Champianship Basically Set Already?
Isn't it pretty likely that the current top 8 in the Race to the Y.E.C. are already basically set as the ones that will qualify come November?
Below are the Top 15 players in the Race:
1 HENIN, JUSTINE - 3675.00
2 JANKOVIC, JELENA - 3475.00
3 IVANOVIC, ANA - 2707.00
4 KUZNETSOVA, SVETLANA - 2546.00
5 SHARAPOVA, MARIA - 2340.00
6 WILLIAMS, SERENA - 2141.00
7 CHAKVETADZE, ANNA - 2106.00
8 WILLIAMS, VENUS - 1740.00
9 PETROVA, NADIA - 1698.00
10 HANTUCHOVA, DANIELA - 1684.00
11 BARTOLI, MARION - 1662.00
12 SAFINA, DINARA - 1527.00
13 SCHNYDER, PATTY - 1445.00
14 VAIDISOVA, NICOLE - 1421.00
15 MAURESMO, AMELIE - 1406.00
Based on the current Race points don't you think it's somewhat unlikel that any of the players between #9 - #15 will be able to replace any of the current Top 8 players by November?
Especially should Venus Williams win the U.S. Open (which I think is likely considering her form) then the Top 8 will be unlikely to change (especially should the Williams Sisters and Chakvetadze ensure they at least play a couple of year end tournaments before the Y.E.C.).
And BTW, I'll just add that the current Top 8 are the best players that could be involved in the Y.E.C. championship in my opinion.
