OK... they have real problem because 5 of 6 "real contenders" from womens tournament is in same part of draw. But what they doing? They simple put Nadal and Djokovic to play with Federer's part of draw, and that new ATP superfield with all 3 ATP "real contenders" they combine with WTA superfield. According to all experts and bookmakers we have 9 real contenders to won USO2007 (with "one digit" odds for example) and today wee see only Masha and tommorow we will see rest (8 of 9 - Federer, Nadal, Djokovic, Henin, Serena, Venus, Jelena and Ana). Todays is 4th day of tournament 1st week, but wee already see doubles matches (1st round) at Arthur Ashe stadium and Armstrong!?!?! And tommorow even WTA#3 must play at Grandstad because Ashe and Armstrong shedule is full with other superstars and showdowns... And in saturday we again will have "only Masha" one girl show.

I know that some posters here will claim that for USTA is Sharapova, Blake and Roddick on one side is equal with Federer, Nadal, Djokovic, Henin, Serena, Venus, Jelena and Ana on other side, but i dont think that this is explanation of this shedule scandal. I dont see any logic here and this is simple stupid without any "conspiracy"... Just stupid...

and I'm not even fan of Ana Ivanovic... just an objective observer who realize how perfect she is

AMAZING BELGRADE MIRACLE: In just three years (2008-2011) 5 different players born in same city reach world #1 in rankings and several GS titles and finals (WTA singles: Ana Ivanovic and Jelena Jankovic, ATP singles: Novak Djokovic, ATP doubles: Nenad Zimonjic and Daniel Nestor... with notable performances of Bojana Jovanovski, Janko Tipsarevic and Viktor Troicki which is also all three born in Belgrade)

I am sick to death of the 5 to 6 contenders for this title. That is pure BS . Jankovic and Ivanovic are not contenders. There good but you need to have won more to 4 tournments to be considered a contender.

Henin, Venus, Serena and Maria are the only ones who can win this. Well after the first couple of rounds not Serena

That's the luck of the draw. But I hate how Sharapova has been at night twice, her matches were easy and boring, Hingis or Sveta should have been night.

It was a joke. Oh but here is a little stat that is interesting. Serena has not been past tha OF's of a Slam since Wimbledon 04; except for the Two AO that she won.

yeah, 1 day i'm excited to watch the matchups... the next day there are only a few matches i want to see. The day that contains Fed, Serena, Venus, justine, Jelena, Ivan is just more interesting

Ivanovic and Jankovic are threats to beat the favorites and go far. But still according to you 3 of 4 top contenders are still on the top half.
GO VENUS!

I think they are a buch of fools sitting out there making the schedule. Even a tennis starter will know how to schedule I guess :sarcastic: . And see the night matches of Maria Sharapova are so boring. I really hate these guys. Aristocratic fools coz of them tennis is loosing its popularity in US.

i actually think Serena played better in her early rounds at the AO than she has so far at the USO. Actually I think she played worse in her 2nd round then seh did in her first round. But Serena hopefully will improve a lot by tomorrow.

You'll not say a word if Jelena and Ana were playing everytime on Ashe.

Doubles is interesting. That's tennis.
Putting all Doubles on court 16 would be dumb.
BTW Jelena MAY BE mobed to Ashe tomorrow.

Like the Bryans were today.

It's not (only) my judgement. JJ playing here SF last year and Ana at last 2 slams reach one final and one semis... but even with yours criteria (if we not count JJ and Ana) this shedule is extremly stupid because on one side USTA put Federer, Nadal, Djokovic, Henin, Serena and Venus to play at same days and at other only Sharapova .

I nothing complain because Jelena is not playing at Eshe tommorow. Problem what i notice is fact that 8 of 9 "real USO-07 contenders" played in same days and only one in other days when they must fill out even at two biggest courts program with doubles matches. I dont have nothing against doubles but it's 1st round!? Bryans played today at Ashe against unseeded opponents and only reason for that is because no enough singles stars today (and see tommorow shedule to see difference).

They have to schedule them like that because of the draw.

Re: Is 1st week shedule of USO 2007 created by USTA is dumbest GS shedule ever???

Well the matches that they have put on both Armstrong and Grandstand are awful for the public. Novak's matched have both been scheduled for Armstrong and Ivanovic and Jankovic have been on Armstrong also when these players are Ashe worthy. Not to mention when big names play in Armsrong/Grandstand it makes my job as a crowd controller alot harder lmao. I hate how fast the hallways fill up with ppl. Its becoming a bit much with the irrate ppl. But yea some the ppl need to moved like Hingis should not have been an Ashe match neither should Venus for that matter. IMHO if you arent a top 5 seed then you should play on the outer courts. Shyt Bartoli first match was on Grandstand and her next was one Court 10 and shes the tenth seed while Martina the 16th seed is on Ashe??? I dont agree at all

Don't let the ball play you, you play the ball
